Marc Walder is one of the most important figures in Switzerlands digital media scene. After starting out as a tennis pro and then rising through the ranks of sports journalism at Blick Group, he took a transformative course at Harvard Business School and returned on a one-man mission to turn his home country into a global digital innovation hub. Scott Lamb: My media life

Scott Lamb is Medium’s Vice President of Publisher Growth and Strategy, responsible for the growth and expansion of Medium’s platform-based publications. His first job, after graduating with a journalism degree in 2005 from NYU, saw him translating and editing work from the German version of Spiegel for its English-language website, before launching a podcast for Salon. He’d spend more than a decade at Buzzfeed, as Managing Editor, Editorial Director, and International VP (with brief forays into YouTube Nation/DreamWorks Animation en route) having helped it to grow traffic from a few hundred thousand to over 100 million monthly unique visitors.

Frederic Kachar: My media life

Frederic Kachar began his professional career at Deloitte before joining Grupo Globo in 1997 as a financial analyst for Infoglobo, its newspaper company. By 2001 he’d risen to CFO of Diário Popular newspaper, and by 2008 he was CEO of Grupo Globo’s magazine company Editora Globo. Since then, Frederic has been working on the transformation of the digital business and on portfolio increase with new magazine and brand launches.

Connie Aluoch is a renowned fashion stylist and founder of Connie Aluoch Styling Management, a global agency that works with magazines and production companies. Originally from Nairobi, she has worked at three of the ‘Big Four’ international fashion weeks, while her styling and editorial work has appeared in some of Africa’s biggest-selling fashion magazines. She is also committed to mentoring aspiring stylists and is a lecturer at University of Nairobi’s School of the Arts and Design.
