The sessions are only half of it.
Some of the most valuable things that happen at FIPP Congress don’t happen on stage; they happen over coffee, at the Welcome Evening, during the walk between sessions or at whatever bar or restaurant the conversations ends up on Wednesday night. We’ve always believe that the right people in a room together, with enough time and space to really talk, is more valuable than anything.
So we work hard to make sure it happens.

Who's in the room?
Last year, 500 senior media executives from 47 countries attended Congress, 285 of them were C-level. They came from 308 different organisations – from major global publishing groups to small independent titles, from technology companies to broadcast networks to media consultancies.
These are the people running media businesses, who care about getting things right, and who came to Madrid to think alongside others doing the same.

At the beginning of October, all registered delegates will get access to Conversation Starter – a web-based networking platform that lets you find other attendees by role, interest or company, and book meetings around the programme before you even arrive in Madrid.

Beyond the sessions
Networking doesn’t have to mean networking. The Tuesday afternoon walking tour, the Welcome evening at Casa de América, the Taste of Madrid on Wednesday evening – these are all chances to meet people in a setting where nobody’s handing out business cards and everyone is a little more relaxed. Some of the best Congress relationships start in exactly those moments.
