For the first time in its history, the FIPP World Media Congress is coming to Africa.
We are heading to Cape Town, one of the world’s most extraordinary cities, for what will be a landmark moment for the global media industry. Join us for three days of ideas, inspiration and connection at the heart of a continent whose media story is only just beginning.
Why this matters
Africa is home to 1.4 billion people and one of the world’s most rapidly expanding digital economies. Bringing the Congress here isn’t just a change of scenery — it’s a signal of where our industry’s future lies.
Expect conversations about AI integration, audience engagement, digital revenue and sustainable journalism to take on a new dimension in this setting.
Organised in partnership with
The venue
Congress will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) — Africa’s premier convention venue, right in the heart of the city.
The city
Cape Town needs little introduction - but as a backdrop for the world’s leading media congress, it is hard to beat. Table Mountain. The Atlantic coastline. A world-class culinary and wine scene. A city that is simultaneously Africa’s media capital and one of its fastest-growing tech hubs, home to broadcasters, digital agencies and a thriving fintech and mediatech sector.
Getting here is straightforward: direct flights connect Cape Town to London (11 hrs), Amsterdam (11 hrs), Frankfurt (10 hrs) and Dubai (8 hrs), and the city operates on GMT+2.
