Oghenevwoke Ighure is the Territory Manager, Africa for PressReader, a global and diversified media company that includes news and information services, content publishing, and digital real estate.

Oghenevwoke oversees a dynamic team working on further growing and diversifying the company’s portfolio, while fostering innovation and synergies across Africa.

Previously, Oghenevwoke served as Executive Director, Strategy, Innovation and Partnerships of BusinessDay Nigeria. After joining BusinessDay in 2012, he rose to serve in a variety of roles, including Executive Director, Digital Services, responsible for leading the digital transformation, launching new digital products among other projects including Businessday’s Mobile Newspaper Service with over 1.4 million subscribers in 2012.

He worked on the launch of the Businessday Weekender, The Businessday CEO Magazine, Businessday Digital Dialogues and the launch of the first Newspaper paywall in Africa with the launch of Businessday.ng in 2016, as well as spearheading the company’s strategic partnerships with the Financial Times and Dow Jones.

Prior to that, Oghenevwoke was a market Analyst at Schlumberger Information Solutions, the largest oil servicing company in the world, in Aberdeen, where, among other projects, was responsible for the overall strategy at that time for the just acquired drilling software company Innerlogics.

Oghenevwoke earned a master’s degree from the University of Kent, Canterbury, United Kingdom after earning his bachelor’s degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Nigeria. He has also attended several senior management courses at the Howard University and the University of Texas at Austin, USA. He is also a 2014 Mandela Washington Fellow, a fellowship by former United States President Barack Obama to recognize young African Leaders.
