Justin B. Smith is Chief Executive Officer of Bloomberg Media Group, Bloomberg L.P.’s global multi-platform media organization. With over 2,700 journalists and analysts across 120 countries, Bloomberg Media Group connects influential, global audiences to news, ideas and intelligence across digital, mobile, TV, video, radio, print, and live events.

Since joining the company in 2013, Justin has led an aggressive, global transformation of Bloomberg Media’s business and built a modern media company driven by innovation-led growth. Under his leadership, Bloomberg Media achieved record results in 2018 and 2019. Justin and his team have recently launched several ground-breaking growth initiatives: The New Economy Forum, a convening platform for leaders of the new, emerging global economy; Bloomberg QuickTake, a 24/7 premium global video news network that seamlessly connects the world of social and streaming reaching over 100m views per month; and Bloomberg.com’s digital subscription business which continues to outpace expectations, more than doubling subscribers in its second year.

Prior to Bloomberg, Justin was President of Atlantic Media, where he led a dramatic revitalization of The Atlantic and founded the award-winning global digital brand, Quartz. Previously, Justin served as President and Publisher of The Week magazine, and prior to that led corporate strategy at The Economist Group in London and Hong Kong. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation and recently completed a six-year term on the Board of Directors of Georgetown University, where he received his Bachelor’s in Science of Foreign Service.

In 2019, The Hollywood Reporter named Justin one of “The 35 Most Powerful People in New York Media” alongside Bloomberg L.P. Founder, Michael R. Bloomberg.
