Eliseu Barreira Junior is Head of Marketing and Digital Advertising Products at Grupo Globo, Brazil’s largest media company, with 16 years of experience in the digital market. He began his career as a reporter at Época Magazine, the Brazilian version of Germany’s Focus, contributing to the Society and International Affairs sections. He also worked in Época’s Infographics, Internet, and Multimedia departments.
Over his career, Eliseu has played an instrumental role in Globo’s digital transformation, including the creation and growth of Globoplay, the leading streaming platform in the Brazilian market. At Globoplay, he was involved in strategy, intelligence, product development, content, marketing, advertising, and distribution initiatives.
Throughout his career, Eliseu has designed and implemented strategies across areas like data, news portals, voice assistants, short-form videos, transactional economy, podcasts, social media, NFTs, and Artificial
Intelligence. As a digital manager, he pioneered strategic synergies between products, integrating the audio market with influencer marketing and unifying Globo’s entertainment social media management.
He has also successfully led major brands on social media such as Big Brother Brasil, Multishow, and Gshow, coordinating agencies and in-house teams to deliver content, marketing, and brand actions across multiple digital touchpoints. Additionally, he developed new opportunities and commercial packages for brands and advertisers.
In recent years, he has shared his experience in digital transformation and media products both in Brazil and internationally, including engagements with the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at Oxford University, The Podcast Show London, and Estación Podcast España.
