Andrés Rodríguez Sanchez
President & Owner, SpainMedia
Andrés is an editor who nearly 20 years ago decided to found Spainmedia, a publishing group through which he confidently invested in print media during the height of the digital revolution. His entrepreneurial vision led him to establish and manage the Spanish editions of Esquire and Harper’s Bazaar for Hearst.
This project came after 20 years working as a journalist, during which he was involved in both the launch and closure of the newspapers El Independiente and El Sol. He also brought the Rolling Stone magazine to Spain, serving as its director during its early years. At Spainmedia, he also published the first European edition of The New York Times Magazine.
He has been the editor and director of Forbes Spain for the past twelve years. Alongside his representation for Forbes, he also created TAPAS magazine. TAPAS received Spain’s National Gastronomy Award, and he is currently a member of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy.
In December of last year, he launched Forbes House, the first private Forbes club in the world. He sits on the Board of Trustees of both the Teatro Real and the Liceu, and serves as President of ARI (the Association of Magazine Publishers). Andres is an ambassador for the Ibiza Preservation Foundation. He has received the Eisenhower Foundation Award for Best Editor and the Dircomfidencial Award for Best Talent.
He is the author of the first biography of Camarón de la Isla, titled Se Rompió El Quejío. He also directs and edits Nautik: The Life Aquatic Magazine. Nowadays, Andres serves as the President of ARI, the Association of Print Magazines.
